PlayaPack ("the App") suggests items to bring on a trip. It is provided for general informational and organizational purposes only.
The App does not provide medical, health, safety, survival, emergency, legal, or professional advice of any kind. It has no knowledge of your health, your medical conditions, your medications, your vehicle, your camp, your experience level, or the conditions at any location in any given year.
You are responsible for your own preparation
Desert environments carry real and serious risks, including extreme heat, extreme cold, dehydration, dust storms, limited or absent access to emergency services, and long distances from medical care. These risks can cause serious injury or death.
Before you travel you should:
- Consult current official guidance from the event organizers and from local, state, and federal authorities;
- Consult a qualified medical professional about your own health needs, medications, and any medical condition;
- Use your own judgment about what you actually need to bring.
Nothing in the App replaces any of the above.
Quantities are rough guidance only
Any quantity the App displays — including water volumes, food, fuel, and supplies — is a general rule of thumb. It is not a personal recommendation and not a minimum safe amount for you.
Your actual needs depend on your body, your health, your level of activity, the weather, and circumstances the App cannot observe. Plan for more than any figure shown. Water in particular should never be rationed to a number displayed by a checklist app.
Medication and medical items
Some catalog entries reference prescription medication, allergy medication, first aid supplies, safer-sex supplies, and emergency items such as naloxone. Their presence in a checklist is not a recommendation that you obtain, carry, or use any of them, and not guidance on how to use them.
Obtain, carry, and use any medication or medical item only in accordance with the direction of a qualified healthcare professional and with applicable law.
